Despite a rapids development in global education still Nigerian students are yet to cross the border of modern Education challenges. I know a lot of parents I will directly blame their children for such failure but in fact, this failure is an outcome of many factors which includes the system of education and the government failure to provide basis for intensive training to both teachers and students which will suit to modern Education and the need to upgrade the standard of education as result of covid-19 pandemic. The massive failure in 2021 JAMB is as result of lack of engaging the students into intensive drilling during covid-19 pandemic and failure of government and even the JAMB board to provide subsidiary measure to fill the gap of teaching and learning lapses during covid-19 pandemic. Looking at how some countries made it easy for their students to get access to alternative educational programs through which student will get access to Education and even admission into Universities amidst of covid-19 pandemic. But here in Nigeria we just jumped into Black man methods, a method without considering the state of education and effects caused by covid-19 pandemic. Government at all levels should try as much as possible to make comparative educational research with a countries like Malaysia, Philippines, India and others on the strategies with which they used to raised their Education to international standard level and strategies they followed when admitting their students during this period of covid-19 pandemic. Further more, government should try as much as possible to look into our Educational system as there are many challenges which need an urgent address in order to prevent future occurrence of such events.
I remembered, in 2013 during my teaching practice exercise I was only teacher teaching computer science and also encouraging the students to know more about digital and computer based Education which will help them to face any form challenges they are going to face when they come across anything related to computer Based test or Education. But unfortunately, in the school with over 4000 students there is only one computer system. The system of education in our country particularly here in the North is not giving room for development rather for political display. As teacher and young aspirant of digital application in education sometimes I used to cry from inside when I look at how our Education system and infrastructures are going so dilapidated without any tangible attempt from government to upgrade the system. From primary to university Education there is no any hope for change all you can see is lack of commitment from government and even teachers. If government should embrace a transparency in Education and application of modern techniques to Education I am sure our Educational system will be much better.
